| On
average, SPLORE serves more than 1,000 children and adults
with physical disabilities, developmental disabilities,
emotional or behavioral needs, unique medical conditions
and other special needs each year. Ultimately, SPLORE's
purpose is to provide outdoor recreation and education
programs that lead to increased health, wellness and community
involvement. |
| SPLORE provides services to people with disabilities
or special needs as well as their family, friends
and care providers. People from ages 8 to 80 participate
in our various programs. SPLORE trips are generally
active but not overly challenging; however, longer
and more strenuous trips may require participants
to be of a certain age or physical ability. |
 |
Unless a trip is specifically structured for a younger
group, a legal guardian must accompany participants under
the age of 18. We collect detailed information on the
health, concerns and special needs of all our participants
to ensure that the trips are appropriately tailored to
meet these needs. |
