Megan Moser -
Northern Program Manager
Megan grew up in Virginia Beach VA. As soon as she discovered the West, however, she knew she would have to end up out here. She went to school studying Therapeutic Recreation and Outdoor Education at Longwood University. In order to finish her degree, she did an internship with Camp Kostopulos. Loving Salt Lake and Camp K, she stayed in the area for a few months skiing and working. As the snow melted, Megan moved to Northern California to work at a residential counseling facility for teens. Always loving Salt Lake City, she moved back to enjoy the Skiing and Climbing opportunities! Two of her passions are people and the outdoors, so she is very excited to join the SPLORE team!

Chris Cambron -
Southern Program Manager
Born and raised on the shores of New Jersey, Chris received a B.A. in Sociology from Boston College. Wishing to explore the country of his origin, Chris began his travels in 2002 with the AmeriCorps*NCCC program in Denver. After completing projects throughout the Midwest ranging from youth mentoring in Minnesota to environmentally sustainable trail building high in the Rockies of southern Colorado, he ventured to Utah to join the SPLORE team in 2004 via the AmeriCorps*VISTA program. Chris also held the positions of Program Director in 2006 and River Manager in 2007, and will continue as River Manager in 2008. Chris is an experienced guitar player and has so far been unable to locate a decent piece of pizza outside the New Jersey / New York area. His quest continues...

Cara Frank -
Program Guide
Cara hails from Washington and even though it rains there practically everyday, she still claims that her heart will always belong to the great Northwest. However, she admits that she will thoroughly enjoy playing in Utah’s white winter wonderland, especially up in the mountains snow-boarding. Cara is a student from Western Washington University who is close to finishing up her coursework towards a B.A. in Recreation. While studying, she rowed with the women’s intercollegiate crew team who went on to win Nationals in 2006. As an individual who was born deaf she is a strong advocate for inclusion. When Cara heard about SPLORE, she applied as a program intern in the summer of 2007. Her internship was such a great experience that she had to come back. Cara is thrilled to rejoin the SPLORE team through the AmeriCorps*VISTA program and looks forward to helping to create an adaptive rowing program.

Susie Schroer -
Volunteer & Outreach Manager
Susie comes from a little town in Missouri. While attending college in her home state at Drury University, she completed an internship with Capernaum, which was similar to Big Brothers/Sisters for kids with special needs. After graduating with a B.A. in Journalism and Psychology, Susie knew she wanted to join AmeriCorps. Loving her previous experience with Capernaum, when Susie heard about SPLORE, she knew it would be a perfect fit and has spent the past two years as the Outreach Coordinator through the AmeriCorps program. She now continues in 2008 in her new full-time position. Excited to get out on programs, especially rafting, she also admits she'll be checking the Internet for updates on St. Louis Cardinals baseball as she's one of their biggest fans.

Patrick Tokarski -
Grants Manager
Pat will rarely use his hand to tell people where he is from, but he will say that he hails from southeastern Michigan and has lived there all his life. Graduating from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Economics, he admits that a move across the country was a giant, but extremely necessary step. While in college, he found his passion for helping those with special needs by joining an organization known as the University of Michigan Dance Marathon. Through this organization he found a special needs bike program and worked there for 2 years, thereby increasing his knowledge and realizing the kinds of people he wants to surround himself with. He is jazzed to be joining the SPLORE team through the AmeriCorps*VISTA program as the Development Coordinator. Pat is equally jazzed to be in Utah for the first time, and he hopes that his Michigan skiing experience will be enough to get him down the mighty slopes of the rockies.

Rebecca Pincock,
CTRS -
Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
Rebecca was born and raised in Idaho, coming to
Utah for what she thought would be a short-term
stay to attend BYU. She graduated with a degree
in Therapeutic Recreation and, after a few months
interning in the east, returned to Idaho. SPLORE
brought her back to Utah when she accepted a position
as an intern for the summer of 2003. At the conclusion
of the internship, she landed a job that kept
her in the area and kept her summers available,
so she has stayed involved with SPLORE ever since,
either through AmeriCorps, volunteering, or contract
positions. As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation
Specialist, Rebecca believes in the power of recreation
and believes in the mission of SPLORE. She is
excited to be a part of this wonderful organization. |
